Kelly bits are most commonly used in seismic drilling, mining & geothermal drilling.
Kelly bits are used in Soft to Medium formation. Mash Kelly bits come in three different body types:
- Air Flush Step body
- Full Flush Step body
- 2 wing Chevron body
Mash Kelly bit design features include:
- a solid one piece heat treated, 4140 alloy steel body for bit strength & durability
- Hardness rated 24-28 Rockwell
- 3/16 Tungsten carbide profile cutting edges
- Ultra high strength brazing to ensure bit toughness
- CNC threaded machining for proper installation & use
- Air flush, directional air nozzles to cutting face
- Full flush, to allow maximum water for cutting
